Terms of Service
Last updated October 18, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mowbill LLC ("Mowbill", "we", "us") about using Mowbill, our online billing and scheduling service for lawn care businesses. By creating an account or using Mowbill you agree to them. If you sign up for a business, you confirm you're allowed to agree for that business.
1. Your account
The person who signs up is the account owner. The owner can add staff and crew users and is responsible for everything done in the account. Keep passwords private, give each person their own login, and tell us at support@mowbill.com if you think someone else has got in. The information you give us about your business must be accurate.
2. Free trial and paying for Mowbill
- Free trial: new accounts are free for 90 days. No card is needed.
- Plans: after the trial, Mowbill costs the monthly or yearly price shown on your Mowbill plan page when you choose. Prices don't include sales tax, which we add if the law requires it.
- Billing: plans are paid in advance and renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Payments are taken by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time with "Manage my plan". Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part-used months or years, unless the law requires it.
- Price changes: we'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you. It starts at your next renewal, never in the middle of a period you've paid for.
- If a payment fails or the trial ends without a plan: you have 3 more days. Then your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, see everything and download your data, but you can't add or change anything, and automatic billing stops. Choosing a plan or paying makes it work again straight away.
3. Card payments from your customers
If you turn on card payments, your customers pay you through Stripe, on your own Stripe account. You agree to Stripe's terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. You are the seller in those payments: Stripe's fees, refunds, disputes and chargebacks are between you, your customer and Stripe. Mowbill only records what Stripe tells it.
4. Your data
The information you put into Mowbill (your customers, properties, invoices, payments, schedules, expenses, receipts, photos and so on) belongs to you. You give us permission to store, copy and process it only as needed to run Mowbill for you, keep it safe and support you. You can download all of it at any time from Settings.
You're responsible for having the right to put your customers' information into Mowbill and to contact them, including the invoice and reminder emails Mowbill sends for you. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
5. Support
To answer a question, Mowbill support may look at your account in a read-only support view: nothing can be changed that way, it ends after 30 minutes, every page viewed is logged, and your account's owners are emailed each time with the reason.
6. Using Mowbill fairly
Don't use Mowbill for anything illegal, to send spam, to harass anyone, or to store information you have no right to. Don't try to get into other accounts or our systems, test our security without permission, overload the service, or copy or resell Mowbill. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts others at risk.
7. Taxes, bookkeeping and estimates
Mowbill works out sales tax from the rates you enter, and shows estimates such as the off-road fuel tax credit and profit & loss. These are tools to help you, not tax, legal or accounting advice. Please check them with your accountant; you're responsible for your own tax filings and records.
8. Availability and backups
We work to keep Mowbill running and your data safe, and we keep regular backups. But no online service is perfect: Mowbill may sometimes be unavailable (for example during maintenance), and we can't promise it will be error-free. Download your data from time to time to keep your own copy.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Mowbill at any time: cancel your plan, download your data, and ask us to close your account from Settings. We may close an account that has been read-only for a long time or that breaks these terms, and we'll email the owner first unless the law or safety prevents it. After an account is closed we delete its data within 30 days, except copies in backups (overwritten within 90 days) and records we must keep by law.
10. Disclaimer and limit of liability
Mowbill is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim about Mowbill is limited to the amount you paid us for Mowbill in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of information you put into Mowbill or how you used it in breach of these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the change matters, we'll tell account owners by email or in Mowbill, and owners will be asked to agree to the new version the next time they use Mowbill. If you don't agree, you can cancel and download your data.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and both sides agree to those courts. Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
