Privacy Policy
Last updated October 18, 2026
This policy explains what information Mowbill LLC ("Mowbill", "we") collects, why, and what we do with it. Mowbill is used by lawn care businesses to bill and schedule work for their customers, so there are two kinds of people whose information we handle:
- Mowbill users: the lawn care business owners, staff and crew who sign in. We decide how this information is used, as described here.
- The businesses' customers: the people a lawn care business bills. The lawn care business decides what to put into Mowbill and how it's used; we store and process it only to run Mowbill for them. If you're one of their customers, please contact that business first about your information. We'll help them answer you.
What we collect
- Account details: names, email addresses, roles, and passwords (stored only in a scrambled form we can't read back). Business details such as name, address, phone, time zone and tax settings.
- Business records you enter: customers and their contact details and property addresses, price lists, invoices, payments, plans and charges, schedules and visits, crew notes and photos, expenses and receipt images, equipment and service records.
- Payments: card payments, both from your customers and for your Mowbill plan, are handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. Stripe tells us whether a payment succeeded, the amount, fees, refunds and disputes.
- Technical information: IP addresses and times of sign-ins and failed sign-ins (to stop break-ins), server logs, and a record of emails sent. Mowbill uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run Mowbill for you: show your records, create invoices, send the invoice, reminder and account emails you ask for, and take payments through Stripe.
- To keep accounts safe: sign-in protection, spotting misuse, and backups.
- To support you: answer questions, including a read-only support view of your account that is logged, limited to 30 minutes, and emailed to your account's owners.
- To bill you for Mowbill and tell you about your plan, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use your business records or your customers' information for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that help run Mowbill, only for that purpose: our hosting provider (servers in the United States), our email provider, and Stripe for payments.
- Your customers see what you send them: their invoices, through emails and the private invoice link.
- When the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
- If Mowbill is sold or merged, to the new owner, who must keep protecting it as this policy says.
How long we keep it
While your account is open we keep your records so you can use them. After an account is closed we delete its data within 30 days, except copies in backups (overwritten within 90 days) and records we must keep by law, such as billing records for tax.
How we protect it
Mowbill uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), scrambled passwords, separation between businesses' data, limits on sign-in attempts, two-step sign-in for Mowbill staff, and logs of staff access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we'll tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
- Owners can see, correct and download all of their business's information at any time (Settings → Download all my data) and ask us to close the account.
- Any user can change their own password and ask us about the information we hold about them.
- Write to support@mowbill.com to ask for a copy, a correction or deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights; we'll respond as the law requires.
Children
Mowbill is for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
We'll update this policy when how we handle information changes, and tell account owners about important changes.
